Autumn Update
Hey guys,
How quickly has Autumn flown by? I wasn't quite ready to let go of Summer, although I do love the fun of Autumn; the colours, layering up, fun events such as Halloween and Bonfire Night, and let's not forget Pumpkin Lattes! Yaaaaas!! Autumn is fun, and I've had a pretty good one!
Let me fill you in on what I've been up to the past few months...
September
September saw my eldest move into Year 8 of secondary school. YEAR 8? I can't quite get my head around it myself, but let's hope this is a better year for him and he starts maturing a little!
The main event this month was my best friends wedding. Myself and the other bridesmaids were busy making sure all the final touches were in place, in terms of our bridesmaid duties, to ensure Jemma and Scott had the most amazing day. And the day was just perfect. The sun came out, Jemma looked beautiful [I'd been SO nervous about doing her wedding makeup, but I think she was happy! :)] and it was just the BEST day! The photographer on the day was Nottingham based Austen Blakemore, who captured the day perfectly. He was great; accommodating, passionate and constantly on-the-go looking for the next great shot. Jemma and Scott are SO happy with the photos, they really did choose a fantastic photographer! For more info on Austen, you can find his website here.
The rest of the month was a whirlwind of toddler groups, soft play, Autumn walks, work and family time. I was also invited along to the Lush Christmas Launch which was great fun, Lush have some amazing stuff around Christmas Time!
At the end of September, myself and my friends Sue and Jemma went to see Bridget Jones' Baby at the cinema after some yummy Italian food. It's such a great film, I loved it.
My most popular post this month was To my Best Friend on your Wedding Day.
October
It started to get a lot colder this month, brrr! The first weekend of October was spent in Milton Keynes with my friends Laura, Alex & Amy to celebrate 10 years of our friendship. How cute?? It was a fab weekend, a bit of shopping and lunch then back to the hotel for a pyjama party and well needed catch up! It's been SO long since the 4 of us were together, it was great to see them all!
Taylor got his Reading Award at the Library for borrowing lots of books, which he was super proud of! And Bradley seemed to be getting on a little better at school.
I had a great month blogging wise, page views were up, followers grew quite a lot, income was up and I was invited to some great events. I really enjoyed the Highcross' Your 5 event, learning to put a great Autumn wardrobe together. And James and I made the most of trying out Cosy Club's new menu, which you definitely should try!
This was the first year that Taylor started to understand 'Halloween' a little more. We had great fun doing Halloween crafts and preparing treats for the trick or treaters and we also dressed up and did a little trick or treating ourselves. He loved it and was very polite! :)
My most popular post this month was 5 Items to Revive Your Wardrobe.
November
Winter weather has well and truly hit now. The leaves are falling off the trees, the nights are dark. In fact it's constantly dark. My blog photography sucks in this light! But, we've been wrapped up and enjoying the festivities.
We took Taylor to his first firework event. Last year he was frightened of the noise but this year he's been really enjoying getting ready for firework night, watching them out of the windows and doing lots of firework crafts and we had a great time at the bonfire party.
I met up with my friends Sandra, Syreeta and Donna this month for some yummy food, drinks and a good catch up and I popped up to Nottingham to see Jemma to celebrate her birthday. We went for lunch and to see Girl on the Train at the cinema. We'd both read the book and were super excited to see it.
Bradley hasn't had a great month at school which has been disappointing for us all. He keeps getting in trouble for being silly, being late to classes and not handing in homework on time [despite me asking every single day if he has any...] Nothing we are doing is helping, I think this is something he just needs to ride out and learn from his own mistakes.
Taylor did a Sponsored Welly Walk with his childminder, to raise money for Children in Need, which he enjoyed. And he has been starting to get excited about Christmas too. We've been to see some reindeer and we're off to see Santa tomorrow too!
James and I managed a date night again this month, courtesy of Pizza Express and their new Christmas menu. Keep your eyes peeled for the full review soon!
My most popular post this month was Cosy Club - a review.
